Gamification is the use of game-design techniques to engage people. For example, products like FitBit and Nike+ have turned physical fitness into a social video game. Over the last couple of years it has become one of today’s hottest trends in business, at companies of all sizes in pretty much all industries. But what is gamification, really, and is it a strategy you should be using to better engage your employees or customers? To help us consider those questions, our guest today is Kevin Werbach.
Kevin is coauthor of For the Win: How Game Thinking Can Revolutionize Your Business. He is a professor at Wharton, one of the world’s top business schools, and created the world’s first MBA course on gamification. Kevin is the founder of the Supernova Group, a technology analysis and consulting firm. He is considered a leading expert on emerging trends in communications and technology. Together, Jesse and Kevin explore the purpose and importance of gamification and discuss how it can revolutionize your business.
